A carousel is a ride found in an amusement park or fair. A carousel is a circular ride that has traditionally had many horses held up by posts on the circular platform. People sit on the horses and the entire platform rotates (spins in a circle). Some carousels also featured horses that would move up and down as well follow the rotating platform. Carousels do not rotate particularly fast and are a good starter ride for small children.
